Target Marketing for the Young Living Brand Partner
“Email blasts are an outdated marketing tactic and a great way to get seen as spam by email servers or your audience.” - Jamie Tangir
Introduction:
For professional Young Living brand partners, having a large list of email subscribers is common. Email subscribers may have found their way onto your mailing list from a social media platform, through a sign-up form on your webpage, or via just being in your downline. All these subscribers are potential customers and potential customers for life, so naturally, you want to send them everything you’ve got: your email newsletter, special offers, and discounts. Right? Actually, we highly recommend that you don’t do this.

Email blasts are an outdated marketing tactic and a great way to get seen as spam by email servers or your audience. In fact, instead of seeming enthusiastic, you might come across as overbearing and thus scare off a possible customer or Rewards subscriber!
Segmenting your Email List
Email list segmentation is the practice of separating (“segmenting”) your email list of subscribers into smaller groups based on similarities to tailor content to your individual subscriber’s needs.
Target Specific Contact Groups
Each group represents a different “persona,” or user type, you want to reach within your audience. These personas are based on the various data points you have for each subscriber on your list, such as customer status, order status, brand partner status, or even location, for in-person events!
Personalize Your Content
Through segmenting your email list, you can create personalized content relevant to each segment rather than trying a mass email, one-size-fits-all strategy.
So how can you segment your contacts easily?
1. Tag Your Contacts and Create Smartlists
Use the Tag and Smartlist features inside of Diamond Marking! We have given you the tag personally enrolled, downline, brand partner, event lead and engaged for this specific reason! Diamond Marketing subscribers can head to our Training Portal and view the 'Newsletter Smartlist' lesson to understand tagging and creating smartlists within our customer care platform.
2. Create Your Content
Head to an email template, such as the November Newsletter-remember Diamond Marketing Subscribers can find the Leader/Mentor folder has emails with webpage links in the calls to action! If you are on a Builder Plan, use the regular Newsletter folder with text/trigger words!
3. Create Multiple Email Campaigns inside Diamond Marketing
Click the three dots next to the template and select “Campaign.” You will be moved into the email where you can edit for that specific campaign! So if you are sending to your “Event Lead” tag, you can craft the content specifically for them before selecting “send or schedule campaign.” For example, you may want to delete the bottom of the newsletter template with the Loyalty Rewards and Brand Partner News for leads.
After clicking “Send or Schedule Campaign,” edit your subject and preview lines to catch the eye of that particular group and then select the Tag or Smartlist in the contact section!
4. Personalize Your Campaigns
Repeat for your next “segment” or group. When editing within a campaign, your edits will not save, so your next email template with be ready to craft for the next group tag, such as your downline tag, where you will def want to add LR and BP updates!
Conclusion:
